NIELSEN - Olav (Ollie) Holm Nielsen, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 years. Ollie is survived by Eva, his loving wife of 58 years; his children Miles (Donna-Lee), Mike (Joanne) and Melanie (Charles); his grandchildren Joel, Courtland, Shelby, Christopher (Miles), Michelle (Mike) and Cole (Melanie); his sisters Helene, Ingrid, Marie and daughter-in-law Agnes. He was scrupulously honest, mischievous, and an enthusiastic Aggravation player. Born in Standard, AB, Ollie worked as a coal miner in Drumheller, AB and Grand Cache, AB and farmed in Bassano, AB and Byemoor, AB. His advice on farming was always sought out, even years after he retired. He retired in Delia, AB and was a member of the Delia Legion. Ollie very much enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and always looked forward to their extended visits. He was a cowboy at heart who loved horses and the open range. If you knew Ollie, you loved and trusted him. He will be missed terribly. Funeral service 2 p.m. Saturday, June 28 at the Christian Fellowship Church, Main Street, Delia, Pastor Dale MacFarlane officiating.
