HINKLE – Noel Howard, Dec. 13, 1936 – April 27, 2008. Noel was the first child born to Vernon and Violet Hinkle. Over the years, the family expanded to include Lynne and younger brother Dennis. Noel grew up on the family farm, and spent many hours with his calves and helping his mother and father with the responsibilities of farming. As he grew older, he began working on Ken Simon’s farm, and after some time took over the operation of the family farm. He later decided to focus on cattle, and transferred the grain responsibilities to Dennis. Along with his cattle, he went to work for Starling and Innocent driving truck and doing machinery set-up. Noel had many friends, and could often be seen making the trip back and forth to Stettler, AB for visits and coffee – not to mention Sabres’ games. Family was important to Noel, and he had a particularly special and unique bond with his mother until the time of her passing. Noel is survived by his sister Lynne Bohnet of Stettler, sister-in-law Vivian Hinkle of Botha, AB and nieces Cheryl (Mike) and family of Blackfalds, AB, Karen (Steve) Copeland and family of Abbotsford, B.C., and Laura of Grande Prairie, AB. He was predeceased by his parents Vern and Violet in 1997, brother-in-law Laverne Bohnet in 2007, and brother Dennis in 2008. Funeral service for the late Noel Hinkle was held on May 3, 2008 at the Stettler Funeral Home with Rev. Susan Bowyer officiating. A private family interment will occur at a later date. Honorary pallbearers were “All Noel’s family and friends”. Lunch was provided by the Botha UCW. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Heartland Victim Services, The Botha Woodland Cemetery, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
