THOMPSON - Louise Esther Thompson aged 57 years of Orkney, SK and formerly of Assiniboia, SK and Stettler, AB died on Thursday, November 27, 2008 at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current, SK following a short battle with cancer. She was born at Stettler, AB on April 28, 1951. Louise was married for 25 years and was predeceased by her first husband Jake Nattestad, her father Frederick Emil Holtz, her mother Audrey Beatrice Holtz and by her sister Patricia Ann Holtz in childhood. She was a busy person and enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and traveling. She and her daughter Katherina left Stettler and moved to Assiniboia and there she married Colin Thompson. She was predeceased by Colin in 2001. Louise was a very social person. In 2004 she met Russel Carleton of Orkney where she moved to and resided until her passing. Louise loved her many adventures with Russel.

She is survived by her partner Russel Carleton and her pet Trixie; her daughter Katherina Nattestad (Luke Burkholder) of Regina, SK; three sisters Edith Rendall of Stettler, Susan Nicoll and Lorrain Smith of Edmonton, AB; five brothers Emil Holtz of Grande Prairie, AB, Ernest Holtz of Calgary, AB, John Holtz of Lodgepole, AB, Craig Holtz of Coronation, AB, and Sam Holtz (Tracy) of Coronation as well as by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held from Orkney Community Hall on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008 at 2 p.m. with Funeral Celebrant Bernadette Schneider officiating. Carol East was the organist and special music was provided by Verna Howlett and Karen Mitchell. Cremation followed the service with interment of her cremated remains taking place at Orkney Cemetery on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008 at 10 a.m. Binkley’s Funeral Service of Shaunavon (www.Binkleys.com) was in charge of the arrangements.Pallbearers were Larry Carleton, Ross Evans, Derald Coupe, David Howlett, Bob Nelson and Dana Holtz.
