COMBEST - Helen Margaret passed away at home in her favourite chair, Nov. 8, 2008 at the age of 85 years. She was born at Erskine, AB on Oct. 27, 1923, the daughter of Dave and Annie Brown. She grew up north of Erskine and attended Behrens School. On Nov. 21, 1943 she married Andrew Lyle Combest. They had two sons Russell and Lynn. Helen was an active member of the Great Bend Church of Christ. Predeceased by her parents Dave and Annie Brown; husband Andrew in 1978; son Russell in 1979; brothers, Allen and Leonard Brown; brothers-in-law Albert Olhausen, Ritchie Anderson, Galen Norris, and Ivan Combest; and sister-in-law Faye Combest, Helen leaves to mourn her loss, her son Lynn; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dave and Margaret Brown and Jim and Jean Brown; sisters and brothers-in-law, Isabelle Norris, Edith Olhausen, Gladys Anderson, Alice and Dale Norris, Audrey and Wally Ward; sisters-in-law Bernice and Norma Brown; many nieces, nephews, other family members and good friends. A funeral service was held on Friday, Nov. 14, 2008 at the Heartland Chapel of Stettler Funeral Home, Stettler, AB with Pastor Lance Penny officiating. Pianist was Linda Lougheed. Interment was held in the Erskine Cemetery, Erskine, AB. Memorial donations may be made to the Erskine Cemetery or a charity of the donor’s choice, c/o Stettler Funeral Home.
