Floyd Leroy

Floyd Leroy Graham passed away peacefully on October 11, 2010 at the Mazenkowski Centre in Edmonton, Alberta. Floyd was born in Lacombe, Alberta on March 19, 1933. When he was about a year old, the Graham family moved to the Stettler-Erskine district and finally settled on a farm north of Stettler. Younger sister Evelyn and brother Glen were born in the next few years. He went to school in the District and loved to go to Sylvan Lake and Buffalo Lake dances. Floyd always had a twinkle in his eye and had a very tender heart. He worked on the farm with his Dad and also at a garage in Stettler as a mechanic. In later years he fondly remembered this area as his old stomping grounds. Floyd married Verna on July 7, 1972. They moved to Grande Prairie and began their life together. Floyd was a partner in Jackpine drilling for many years. They were involved in many clubs. They went square dancing, golfing, camping, fishing, and travelled to many interesting places and made some very good long term friends. They enjoyed being with family and all the Grandchildren. On July 24, 2001 Verna passed away. Floyd carried on with his life and loved floor curling and was very active with the seniors group. Floyd met Rollande on Thanksgiving Day in 2005. They hit it off right away and were married on May 19, 2007. They enjoyed their retirement which was filled with many activities such as floor curling, dancing and playing cards. He enjoyed all the extended family he acquired. They also travelled together on many trips with seniors groups and on their own. Floyd is survived by his loving wife Rollande; his sister Evelyn Gracie; his brother Glen Graham; his stepchildren Angus (Maureen) Currie, Joanne (Brian) Korotash, Armand (Susan) Turgeon, Carmen (Paul) Loxam, Rita Turgeon, Celynne Turgeon. Floyd is predeceased by his loving wife Verna; parents Lee and Flo Graham; his step daughter Angele Rieu. Funeral service will be held Friday, October 15, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Memorial donations may be made to the Q.E.II Hospital Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
