KNOWLES
Edmund Leopold "Leo" Knowles passed away peacefully at Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital, Castor, AB on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at the age of 88 years. Predeceased by parents Eva and William; sisters Lillian Johnson and Betty Vorachek; brothers in law: Alfred Zurfluh, Ross Spencer, Bill Smyth; sister in law Carolyn DeBoer-Johnson; niece Gail Zurfluh; Leo is survived by his siblings George (Nora) Knowles, Shirley (William) Ries, Herbert Knowles, Wilma Zurfluh, Nora Spencer, Karen (Gordon) Hogg, Sandra Smyth and brother in law Mike Johnson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, numerous other family and a host of many special friends.
Funeral services for the late Leo Knowles were held in the Heartland Chapel of the Stettler Funeral Home on Saturday, December 21st, 2013 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jim Culham officiating. Glenda Ries beautifully led the music and the Ries and Weber families also sang "The Irish Blessing." Loving tributes were given by Marilyn Weber as well as many other members of the family and friends. Honorary pallbearers were "All of Leo's Many Friends".
Following the service family and friends gathered in the Heartland fellowship hall for a time of refreshments and sharing with the luncheon prepared by the Stettler United Church Women.
