EKHOLM - Mr. Don Ekholm passed away on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008 in Stettler, AB at the age of 70 years. Don is survived by his loving wife Ethel; children Marilyn Lee, Debbie (James) Hollman, Brenda (Jared) Nichols, Sharlene Ekholm, grandchildren Curtis Lee, Tyler, Kirstin and Jayson Nichols, Courtney and Chelsey Hollman and Stacie Dahl as well as other relatives and many special friends. He was predeceased by his parents Erna and Emil Ekholm. Don was born in Castor, AB on Dec. 19, 1937. He attended the Donalda School. Don met his lovely girl Ethel and they were married in Edberg, AB on Sept. 20, 1958. He worked for CN, John Deere and Barton’s Farm Equipment. Don then farmed on his own and after retiring from farming in 1975, Don and Ethel went to live in Donalda, AB. He then worked at John’s Vending Ltd. until his passing. Don had many interests which included fishing, camping, hunting, and spending lots of time with his grandchildren. A funeral service was held at the Donalda Community Hall in Donalda, Alberta on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Brian Hunter officiating. The active pallbearers were Gary Clement, Wade Konschuh, Duane Steinhoff, Bradley Steinhoff, Lee Erickson and Arthur LaRose and the honorary pallbearers were Gerry and Leona Konschuh, Richie and Yvonne Larson, Allan and Shirley Steinhoff, Ben and Shirley Erickson, Jack LaRose, Marg Steinhoff and everyone in attendance. Don was laid to rest with his parents at the Donalda Cemetery. A reception and fellowship followed in the Donalda Community Hall and was graciously served by the Donalda Coulee Friendship Club. As an expression of sympathy memorial contributions may be made to the Donalda Cemetery, Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of donor’s choice in care of Brennen Funeral Home (2001) Ltd., P.O.
