GENDRE

Deborah Elaine

1954 - 2012

Deb Gendre of Big Valley, passed away surrounded by her loving family at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at the age of 57 years. Deb was born on April 27, 1954 in Stettler. She lived in Byemoor with her parents Cliff and Lorraine Wooden and all of her siblings; Danny, Rick, Judy, Katy, Bruce and Walter. She then moved to Ashcroft in 1970. Here she worked at the family store for about five years before moving on. When Deb moved away from home, she moved around a lot making her way to the ocean which she grew to love so much. She settled for a few years in Sandspit, a tiny town in the Queen Charlottes. While living here, Deb's first daughter Carmin was born in 1977. A couple of years later Deb moved back to Alberta to be closer to her family. Her son Clyde was born in Sundre in 1982 and the three of them lived on a little farm just outside of town. Deb and the kids made their way back to Stettler around 1984 and it was here that she met the true love of her life Brian Gendre. The couple were married on March 14, 1986 and their daughter Apryl was born in October of that same year. Life was wonderful! The family built their dream home with a giant yard. Then when Deb thought things could not get any better, her daughter Robyn was born to complete their wonderful family in 1988. Deb always enjoyed going camping every summer and being in the mountains. She loved to tend to her beautiful flower gardens and was also a huge fan of pictures. The vast wall of family photos displayed proudly in her home was proof of her deep pride and love of her husband, her children and her grandchildren. Deb was a wonderful person always there if you needed her. Her absence will leave a huge void in our family and in our hearts for a long long time to come. A memorial service to celebrate Deb's life was held at the Stettler Community Hall on Friday, March 9, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. with the Rev. Jack Schulze leading the ceremony. Immediately following the service, family and friends joined at the hall to share their memories of Deb. As an expression of sympathy and in loving memory of Deb, memorial contributions may be made to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of your choice in care of Brennen Funeral Home and Cremation Services P.O.
