LaRose


Mr. Arthur Lee LaRose passed away peacefully at the Stettler Health Care Centre on May 16, 2017. Arthur was born May 6, 1953 in Stettler the third child of Penny and Beth LaRose. Arthur was raised on the family farm north of Stettler. He attended school in Donalda and Waverly and high school at Wm. E. Hay in Stettler.

Arthur married Jeannette Laisnez on June 29, 1974 and they had three sons Jason, Timothy and Luke. Arthur worked at the Bank of Nova Scotia at various locations from 1972 to 1975 and then he went farming at Big Valley until 2001. At this time the move was made to work at UFA in Stettler and live at Rochon Sands.

Sports were a big part of Arthur's life, from track and football in high school to fastball, slow pitch and curling later on. His proudest moments though were watching his sons play hockey, football and any other activities they could come up with. And later on he could be found watching his grandson and nephews as well.

Arthur was predeceased by his parents Penny and Beth LaRose, brothers Tracy and Robin and sister Carol Proctor as well as in laws Charles and Theresa Laisnez. He is survived by his wife Jeannette; and sons Jason (Emma) and children Liliana and Elijah; Timothy (Shannon) and son Riley; and Luke (Tania). He is also survived by brothers in law Alan Proctor (Elsie) and Chris Laisnez (Shauna); sisters in law Gloria LaRose, Fran McAdam, Carol Laisnez, Diane Wiebe (Robert) and Leann Laisnez (Gene); numerous nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.

Funeral Mass was held at Christ King Catholic Church on May 26, 2017 at 2:00 PM with Father Don Ihekwoaba as Celebrant. Paul Carriere, Diane Wiebe, Carol Laisnez and Leann Laisnez presented their gifts of music. Words of Remembrance were given by Allen Jacobson; Art's nieces and nephews took part in the service as gift bearers and readers. Leann Laisnez served as Pallbearer as Art was laid to rest at Lake View Cemetery; Honorary Pallbearers were Brenda and Larry Meyer, Helen and Allen Jacobson, Jim Lockhart, Peggy and Wayne Hearonemus, Ron and Marilyn Potter, Lorne Proctor and Dianne Ransom, Laurel Lockhart and Gord Potter. Family and friends gathered in the Royal Canadian Legion for a time of fellowship and a luncheon following the service.
