The weather took another bitter cold turn this past week with another week of cold in sight. By the time you read this perhaps there’s a warm spell coming.

Family and friends gathered at the Castor Community Hall to pay tribute to and remember Patti (Robinson) Everson who passed away suddenly January 17, 2018. Patti is the fourth oldest child of the late Jim and Phyllis Robinson of Gadsby. She grew up north of Gadsby on the family farm, taking her schooling in Gadsby and Stettler. She married Bruce Everson and together they raised their four children in the Castor district. They owned and operated the auto body shop there. For the past 27 years Patti has been working at Gus Wetter School in Castor, first as a teacher’s aide and later the librarian. Everyone loved her there. The Castor hall was filled, family members taking part in the service as well as a moving power point presentation. Patti was interred in the Gadsby Omega Cemetery prior to the service. She was 64 years of age. Sincere sympathies to her siblings, Jimaine Walgenbach and family, Norman and Donna Robinson and family; Debbie and Harold Hansel and family; Robert and Gwen Robinson and family; Raymond Robinson and family; Betty Ann and John Cassidy and family and Laurel and Billy Smith and their family. As well, Patti’s children, Janell (Craig), Jody (Stephanie), Dalen (Danielle) and Reyna (Terrance) and all their families.

Jewel Winter/Heer and Paulette Heer as well as Nadine Lang and her mom Linda Wilke were among the audience on Tuesday, January 23 at the PAC Centre to watch and enjoy the Grade 7 class from Wm E Hay Secondary Campus which included Hannah Winter and Ashley Lang, who participated in a Live Audience, final drama piece for this semester. There were seven 10-minute productions, written and produced by the students having been given two themes for each group of four to work with. Well done, Miss Amy Smith (Drama teacher) and students!

Bill and Joyce Hansel over to the Musgrave home on Saturday to help Ray Musgrove celebrate his 12th birthday. And happy birthday to Grant Musgrove whose birthday is February 2nd. Lets hope the groundhog gives you lots to celebrate!

Also birthday wishes to Chandler Skocdopole, who celebrated early with his sister Bridget.

Fred and Velvet Entwisle took in birthday party celebrations on Sunday for granddaughter Kalli Bigney who turns 6 on February 7. An early birthday party so grandpa Fred could be there before heading back to work.
