A new primary grain elevator may be built west of Stettler.

G3 Canada is considering building astate-of-the-art facility featuring fast truck unloads and a loop track design allowing trains to remain intact and load quickly.

The facility is designed to have a storage capacity of 42,000 tonnes, and utilize industry-leading dust mitigation techniques.

Pending regulatory approval, construction is expected to begin in spring 2019 and take about 18 months to complete, which would allow farmers to begin delivering to grain to the facility in time for the 2020 harvest.

G3 is hosting a public open house on Nov. 15 at 10 a.m. at the Stettler District Agricultural Society Pavillion to provide more details and answer questions about the project.
