As I write this it is +4 outside. Welcome to spring in January.

The Erskine Seniors held their meeting after crib last Wednesday. Officers remain the same — Gord McClelland is president, Edith Plante is secretary and Judy Pepperkorn is treasurer. Memberships are now due and anyone wanting to join can do so by calling Judy at 403-742-0726. Crib continues to be played on Wednesday afternoons, games night is Thursday and canasta is played on Friday afternoons. All are welcome to come out and enjoy these games.

The Erskine Knitting Club will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. in the Waverly Club Rooms. This club is not just restricted to knitting machines but hand knitting, crocheting and cross-stitch or any other stitchery hobby.

Coming up at the Erskine School is the book fair beginning on January 30 ending on Friday, Feb. 9th. There is no school on Friday, Feb. 2 due to P D Day. CARA curling will take place on Feb. 9 in Stettler. Feb 10th is the boys basketball tournament. February 19th (Monday) is Family Day.

This year Mrs. Morbeck is coaching the boys basketball team and Mrs. Lachowsky the girls. There has been new glass installation upstairs in the school making viewing games much nicer. Games are played on Wednesday after school and the community is invited to go and watch.

The Erskine Post office will be closed on Monday, Feb 19th for Family Day.

It is difficult writing the Erskine news if no one participates in giving me information. As yet none of the clubs let me know about upcoming meetings or activities and I really would appreciate it if the secretaries or someone from the clubs would give me updated information. I need to know by Friday mornings.
