Botha Terry Fox Run in the near future

Floor curling is up and running, come check it out

Submitted by Louise Bellair Botha Booster

Next Sunday Sept.24, head over to the Botha Hall at 1:30 p.m. for a exciting time with the Old-Tyme Dance Club and dance to the music from the Old Tyme Aires. They are a fantastic band, and everyone is invited to attend regardless of age. The committee however is asking everyone to bring either buns/sandwiches, salads or desert to share at the 5 p.m. luncheon that afternoon. Come have fun. The theme is Harvest/Hard Times, so dress accordingly if you like.

Today and every Thursday at 1p.m. is floor curling, so come on out and join in the game.

Monday 25, starting at 9:30 a.m. is the quilting day, so come and join the group on this exciting day. Even if you have never quilted before, they would encourage you to attend, as they would love to teach you this special craft.

Bingo evening will be Wednesday 27 at 7:15 p.m., doors open at 6:30. So come on out and try out your luck, who knows you could be one of the big winners that evening.

Don’t forget coffee is always on at 10 a.m. every Wednesday morning, so take some time out of your busy schedule and join the group.

The next Senior Meeting will be Tuesday October 3, at 12 noon. So they are hoping all seniors will be able to attend these important meetings.

School is now on, including kindergarten now and is in full force and has been for a couple of weeks now. So parents/guardians please remember to look at your child agenda nightly and sign and return them daily with your child. Also feel free to contact the school at 403-5187 anytime you have a question and /or come visit anytime. With parents and staff working together as a team we can make this a fantastic year for your child.

This past Tuesday 12, playschool started up for this upcoming year too. They hold the class every Tuesday and Wednesday for your child, so this is exciting for everyone. So all drivers remember to look for signs and slow down during regular school times.

On Sept 29, is Orange Shirt Day at the school plus the Terry Fox Run in the p.m., so please sponsor the children in this run. That afternoon also feel free to come out and support your child in watching or participating in it.

On Tuesday 19, the school council meeting was held for this upcoming year.

Contact Shaun Derr at 403-742-4811 and reserve your special spot at the Botha Hall.
