Happy Valentines Day! We’ve made it through another cold snap and heading down the last half of winter…I hope.

Congratulations to Junae Ventnor who has completed her college courses in hairdressing at Marvel College in Red Deer. Best wishes for your future Junae.

DeLores Duris contacted me this week. She is living in Cochrane now and enjoying retirement and her many senior activities but she wanted to pass on the fact that she has been diagnosed with Lymes Disease as has her daughter Barb. The doctors feel that they probably contracted it on the farm here north of Gadsby. There are many types of ticks that can carry this and even some mosquitoes.

Bill and Joyce Hansel have been busy this past week. On February 9 they went to Coronation to cheer on Ray Musgrove’s hockey team. Then February 10 also in Coronation to Dusty Batting’s hockey game. On to Provost to Ryder Trenerry’s fourth birthday party. After dinner at The Pump on Sunday on to daughter Sue’s for Tyler’s birthday. Also at The Pump on Sunday were Percy and Paulette Heer, Doug and Shirley McKay and Lorna Brown. It should be mentioned it was a balmy -24 that day!

Sincere sympathy to Verna Mailer and family on the passing of Verna’s oldest sister Victoria Halverson of Edmonton. Victoria was in her own home until about six months ago and died suddenly at the age of 98. Many in our area would remember Victoria as she attended many family events and knew a lot of Verna’s friends and neighbors.
