A Red Deer woman dies in a crash east of Stettler

Police continue to investigate collision

A 59-year-old Red Deer woman is dead after a two-vehicle collision east of Stettler.

On Sept. 20 at about 5 p.m. Coronation RCMP responded to the collision on Hwy 599 near Township Road 380.

According to Media Relations Officer Cpl Ronald Bumbry, a car was heading west when it collided with an eastbound SUV.

The Red Deer woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.The lone adult female occupant of the SUV was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Coronation RCMP along with an RCMP Collision Analyst continue to investigate the collision. Police say her name will not be released.

“Our thoughts are with the family of the deceased at this time,” said Cp. Bumbry.
