Stettler continues to buzz with melodious music during the 42nd annual Stettler and District Music Festival that will reach its climax next Tuesday, April 27, when top performers will hit the spotlight during the ever-classic grand finale concert at Stettler Performing Arts Centre.

“Adjudicators have already made a number of recommendations to the provincial festival and this speaks to the high caliber of the performances thus far,” says Lorna Piché, the festival’s media secretary.

“Some of these will be highlighted at our grand concert, so be sure to come out and enjoy some great entertainment.”

While speech and school chorus wraps up on April 22 at PAC, dance concludes the festival on April 23 to 25.

To carry the long-standing tradition, the music festival features various performing arts such as vocal and instrumental music, theatre arts, speech arts, and dance staged at PAC and St. George’s Anglican Church.

Over 800 entries and over 2000 performers are registered for the event.”We have entrants from Erskine, Big Valley, Botha, Donalda, Gadsby, Halkirk, Castor, Consort, Coronation, Delburne, Hanna, Bowden, Three Hills, Innisfail, Wimborne and of course, Stettler.”

Organizers urge spectators to arrive early for all performances as the doors will not be open during the performances or adjudication.

People are also reminded that food and beverages are not allowed in the venues and no cameras or recording devices are permitted during the festival performances or adjudication.

Festival programs and passes are available in advance from Pfeiffer House of Music in Stettler.
