Ladies’ Day presented by Heartland Arts Troupe Society was a big hit with four nights of dinner-theatre April 14 to 17 at Stettler Community Hall.

“I was very pleased with the performances of each person and the great reaction from the audiences,” said director Glorene Ellis.

“We got excellent comments from people in the audience – I wasn’t surprised.”

“The standards are always high in Stettler for dinner-theatre,” said Ellis.

“We see that by how good the characters are developed.”

Performers included newcomers Jessica Harvey as Linda and Andrea Mullbach as Shelley.

Completing the female cast were longtime actresses Sue Stratulate as Pearl and Jane Shepherd as Jan.

Local newcomer Brian Bennett joined veteran performers Andrew Humphries and Cody Borek as each actor played two characters.

“I believe in Stettler’s theatre group and it pays off on the part of the performers and the audiences,” said Ellis.

Many in the audience rolled in laughter during the two-act play, written by Amanda Whittington, about four women who work in a fish plant and get tickets to the prestigious Royal Ascot horse race in York.

HATS plans to present another fall production in keeping with tradition.
