With heavy rainfall this spring

The district received a substantial amount of moisture last week, with amounts ranging from two and a half to four inches of rain.

Combined with prior rains, the countryside has never looked greener. In areas with the heaviest rainfall, the soil has become saturated, with water lying on the fields and the creeks are running.

Congratulations to Brittiany Keith and Jesse Hebert, who were married on Saturday in the historic St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, with their reception and wedding dance held at the Byemoor Hall.

There will be a burial service for Pastor Brian Patterson at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church on June 28 at 1 p.m.

Pastor Patterson was instrumental in restoring St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and having it declared a historical site. He also began holding periodic services at the church at Christmas and other times through the year, since regular services had been discontinued in 1978.

In recent years, the church has been the scene of several weddings. Pastor Patterson was living in Edmonton at the time of his passing.
