From June 14 to July 12, the Donalda Art Gallery will be featuring a special exhibit, “Canada 150: Period Costume” featuring a variety of different uniforms, dresses, and clothes from the past. This is a great chance to see some unique pieces. The Donalda Art Gallery will be open daily this summer from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Donalda Coulee Friendship Club will be holding their annual Father’s Day Pancake Breakfast on June 18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., featuring bacon, eggs, sausages, quiche, hash browns, pancakes, fresh orange juice, homemade syrups and coffee at the Donalda Drop-In Centre.
The next Red Lamp Market will be held on July 1, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., promoting all types of vendors, no matter what the weather is. Vendors must pre-book with Amanda at 403-741-6095.
On July 1, Donalda’s Canada Day celebrations will take place from 11 a.m. to midnight. There will be a brunch at the Lutheran Church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by Pie and Coffee at the Drop-In from noon to 4 p.m. The Period Costume exhibit at the Art Gallery from noon to 4 p.m. Hotdogs, pop, floats and ice-cream at the Big Lamp from noon to 4 p.m. Children’s games beside the library from 1 to 4 p.m. Bouncy House at the Big Lamp starting at 1 p.m. Red Lamp Market will be on too, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
At 4 p.m., the parade will begin. There will also be a Roast Beef Dinner by Mad Catering at the Drop-In from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Live auction on the stage by the Big Lamp at 7 p.m. Also, live band “Retired Night Riders” will be on stage by the Big Lamp from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. with the fireworks starting at 11:30 p.m. Be sure to come out and enjoy all that Donalda has to offer this Canada Day!
