Share the joy of reading with the Icelandic tradition of Jolabokaflod (“Christmas Book Flood”), exchanging gift books with loved ones on Christmas Eve.

Or for a fun, budget-friendly alternative, borrow books from the library to read aloud as a family or during a snug reading retreat of your own. You can keep them for three weeks and then return them to exchange for something new, costing you nothing.

We also have a large collection of movies for Christmas Eve, audiobooks for road trips or to listen to while you’re piecing together those jigsaw puzzles, and even board games for the whole family to enjoy over the holidays.

Children:

Little ones (0-5 yrs) will love the winter word fun at Read and Rhyme, on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday at 10:30 a.m. And the stories we read can count toward your goal of 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, a free app to track your family’s reading. We offer small prizes for each milestone you reach.

Get ready for Christmas with us at Something Cool After School as we create salt dough ornaments on Thursday, Dec. 14 at 4 p.m.
