BIG VALLEY BULLETIN -- Soon to be upon us, the long awaited grand opening of the Big Valley Historical Society's new Tool Museum is scheduled for Sunday, May 29 from 1 to 4 p.m. The ribbon cutting ceremony will be at 1 p.m. followed by an open house with light refreshments and some door prizes. Be sure to mark your calendars and come on out to see Big Valley's new museum.

The 4-H year has flown by with Big Valley Beef Club members already getting their projects ready for their big show. In preparation for the big day, they will hold their mock achievement day on Sunday, May 1 at the Armstrong arena. Here's hoping for nice weather and tame steers.

Congratulations to Ashton Kaiser for winning district public speaking and placing second in regional and to Jessie Armstrong who placed first in district presentations and first in regional.

The 4-H District Show and Sale takes place in Stettler on Monday and Tuesday, May 23 and 24. The female show starts at 1 p.m. on Monday, with the steer show starting at 9 a.m. on Tuesday. Big Valley's 4-H Beef Club would like to invite everyone to come to Stettler and see their finished projects.

May will once again welcome some great rodeo action to fair our village. Big Valley's annual Bust-out Rodeo takes place on May 13 and 14 at the Agriplex. Watch for more information on times and events.

Fifteen players came out for crib at the Big Valley Inn on Sunday, April 17. Trudy Spence and Dorothy Annable shared first place, Len Shaw took second place and Mary Wilkie took third. Caroline Pound took home the booby while Stan Nattestad won the draw. It was a great afternoon. Please note that next Sunday will be the Big Valley Inn crib players' last tournament for the season. Special treats and door prizes will follow the tournament. See you all there.

Big Valley ladies' golf starts off the new season on Wednesday, May 4. Ladies' golf will run every Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. Come on out and join the fun.

The Big Valley Art Group are pleased to be hosting guest instructor, Sandy Bingeman of Ponoka, for watercolour painting lessons from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18 at the Train Station. For more information or to sign up please call Rose at 403-741-9800.
