Tonight the Stettler Public Library is going to be full of wonderful smells and joyous sounds. The Library and the Stettler Adult Learning Council is pleased to present our third annual International Holiday Potluck tonight, Dec. 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. This is our way of welcoming the newcomers to our community so bring one of your family’s traditional Christmas dishes or a dish from your culture and share the evening with friends at the Stettler Public Library.

If you and the kids were unable to make our annual Craftapalooza Christmas Crafting Extravaganza, don’t fret. We are going to repeat Craftapalooza on Saturday, Dec. 10. Kids of ages 12 and under can take in the fun from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and ages 13 and up get to take over from 2 to 5 p.m. There will be Christmas crafts everywhere.

The cookbooks are available for our last Cookbook Club gathering of 2016. Join us for an evening of appetizers and desserts on Monday, Dec. 12 at 6:30 p.m. It is a great way of testing out recipes before you have to impress the extended family.

The last After School with Darlene for 2016 will be on Thursday, Dec. 15 at 3:30 p.m. And we are continuing with the Christmas theme when you will enjoy the book “The Amazing Christmas Extravaganza” and making some beautiful ornaments for your Christmas tree.

Are you looking for the perfect gift for a movie lover? Or do you want to get a present for yourself? Well, the Winter 2017 picks for the Stettler Film Circuit have been confirmed and we are pleased to announce the following films: January 2 – Two Lovers and a Bear; February 6 – Manchester by the Sea; March 6 – Julieta; and April 3 – I, Daniel Blake. You can purchase a four-movie pass at the Stettler Public Library for $35. Or you can purchase your tickets at the Jewel Theatre’s box office the night of the movie for $10. Movies, the perfect gift!
