GADSBY/WESTWOODS NEWS -- This past Wednesday, Nov. 23 there was a widespread power outage east of Stettler, including Botha, Gadsby and Shooting Lake areas, stretching up as far east as the Saskatchewan border. Personally, we were out for 20 hours. Some had power as early as 6:30 a.m., while others, like ourselves, had power around 3:30 p.m. We are very grateful to the work crews for the many long hours they put in. The heavy, wet fog was apparently the culprit.

Birthday greetings to Elliot Skocdopole who is celebrating his 11th birthday early on Saturday, Nov. 26 with family members including his mom and dad, Richelle and Greg and family; grandparents Stan and Gloria Diegel; Jim and Dixie Skocdopole; aunts and uncles, Arden and Deanne and family; Tasha and Aaron and family.

Marie Vance has had visits from her sister-in-law, then a week with sister Evelyn Miller.

There was a great turnout for the Christmas lightup in Gadsby. The Pothier family estimated over 300 people visited the farm and they're already busy planning for next year.

Lincoln Carey and the Stettler Wildcats won the tier IV provincial silver medal, losing to Bow Valley in the final championship game on Saturday, Nov. 26.

Nick and Haley, Cooper and Rowan headed to Lethbridge for a few days, visiting Nick's grandparents. While away grandma Velvet puppy sat.

And one more reminder that Santa Day is on Saturday, Dec. 3 at the Gadsby Community Hall. An afternoon of entertainment and refreshments, including a visit from Santa.
