Gadsby buzzing with Christmas visitors - Gadsby / Westwoods

The best Christmas present for everyone was the warm weather, clear skies and good roads for traveling.

Eleanor and Frank Dahlgren had 22 people for Christmas Eve supper including Elva, Neal, Cecil, Bonnie and their families.

On Christmas morning, they were over to Bonnie and Dwayne’s for a traditional breakfast then in the afternoon to Tammy and Darcy’s.

Boxing Day, Bonnie and Dwayne and family were over.

Velvet and Fred Entwisle had everyone home: Haley, Sean and Cooper, Leigha and Kyle, Angel, Mareena, Kendra and Piper. Aunt Mary Brennen stopped in as well. Mary also spent Christmas with daughter Tammy and Darcy and family on Christmas Day. Boxing Day, Velvet got word that she had a new baby nephew in the family.

Kathy and Larry Tuck joined Kathy’s brother Neil Halverson in Stettler.

Diane and Kevin Baird went to daughter Marybeth’s at Gibbons.

Jim Baird has been in the hospital but was able to get a day pass to be home with Ethel for Christmas Day. He will remain in hospital for a few more days. Get well.

They received a phone call from grandson Kyle Baird on Christmas from Thailand where he has been backpacking for 40 days, then it’s on to Cambodia, Laos, and South Vietnam. A great experience.

Bill and Joyce Hansel went to daughter Sue Bauman’s at Erskine along with Sandra and family and Joyce’s sister Betty.

Christmas Day at Stan and Gloria Diegel’s with Richelle and Greg Skocdopole and family, Arden and Deanne Deigel and family Wade and Ybiett and family. Then on Boxing Day, they all came back to help eat the leftovers which is also a family tradition.

Deanne got word that her aunt passed away in Camrose. Sincere sympathies to Deanne and Arden and family.

Gordie and Shirley Reynolds hosted Christmas with daughter Kathy and Tim arriving Christmas Eve from Edmonton.

Karen, Armanda, Colton and Trista, Daryl Primrose and son Justin of Big Valley joined Gordie and Shirley for Christmas Day. Kathy and Tim stayed over and returned to Edmonton Boxing Day.

Celebrations started early at the Heer farm with Doug and Shirley McKay, Iona Berg, Barry and Lorna Brown, Jeanne Beisel, Elenor Gabert and Janette Rouse joining Percy and Paulette on Dec. 20 for supper, singing and games.

Dec. 23, Percy and Paulette enjoyed friends Mary Brennen Velvet and Fred for an evening of food, fun and Canasta. Daughter Christy and Curtis Wideman, Matthew, Clayton and Josie arrived Christmas Eve. Grandma Iona Berg, Uncle John, Jewel and Hannah, and Jeanne Beisel joined them Christmas Day. Box Day, Percy’s cousins Dervil Heer and his sister Sharon came out for a visit and an early supper. Later on, Christy and Curtis and family left for home. The grandchildren enjoyed lots of Skidoo and toboggan rides and it was hard to keep Jeanne off the Skidoo.

It was a busy household for Ray and Rene Blackmore with sons Scott and Christa and Robert on Christmas Day followed by a houseful on Boxing Day. Their other son Travis Leanne and Jack were there Rene’s mother Dorothy and Tom, Mike and Angela and girls Marian, and friends Dave and Jill came later.

Wayne and Margery Glasier enjoyed the family home.

Ken and Alicia and family, James and Janine and family, Wayne’s mother Wilma was out for Christmas Day then returned Boxing Day as daughter Kay and Doug Hankinson and their son Collin arrived.

Collin stayed overnight and Kay and Doug will be here for a few days.

Happy birthday to Haley Bigney who celebrated her 21st birthday just before Christmas with family and friends.
