Erskine United Church to host series for Lent on March 16 and April 6

The Men’s Bonspiel is coming up beginning on Sunday, March 12 and going on until March 19.

ERSKINE ENQUIRER — The Men’s Bonspiel is coming up beginning on Sunday, March 12 and going on until March 19. Anyone wanting to enter a rink can call Miles Armstrong at 403-741-4997. The Women’s Bonspiel is on right now and will finish on Suday, March 5.

Also, coming up on Sunday, March 12 is the Dance Jam. There is no age restriction and anyone is welcome to come and play an instrument or dance or just visit and enjoy a lunch. Let’s keep our Seniors’ Centre going by joining in crib playing on Wednesday afternoons at 1:30 p.m. There’s Games Night on Thursday evenings, coffee and cookies on Friday mornings at 10 a.m. free of charge, and Canasta played on Friday afternoons. All ages are welcome and people from surrounding towns are welcome as well.

The Knitting Club will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, March 2 at 7 p.m. in the Seniors’ Centre. We are always looking for new members, and since it is close to St. Patrick’s Day, please wear green to the meeting. Crocheters are also welcome.

On Friday, March 3 is PD Day, so there is no school on that day. Teachers’ Convention is on March 9 and 10, so no school on those days too. Report cards go out on March 21 and spring break begins on Saturday, March 25.

Hosted by the Stettler United Church and the Erskine United Church is a series for the season of Lent. Stettler’s meetings will be on March 2, 9, 23 and 30 and April 13, Erskine’s will be on March 16 and April 6. All meetings begin at 7 p.m. This is a series for both teens and adults.
