Donalda will host grand festivities on Canada’s 150th

he Donalda Ranch Rodeo will be held on June 3, 2017, starting at 12:30 p.m.

DONALDA DIARY — The Donalda Ranch Rodeo will be held on June 3, 2017, starting at 12:30 p.m. There will be team events, sorting, trailer loading, penning, branding and doctoring. There will also be prizes, games, dessert auction, door draws and a concession.

The next Red Lamp Market will be held on Saturday, June 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. rain or shine! Open market promoting all types of vendors. Located on Railway Ave. next to the world’s largest lamp. Vendors must pre-book with Amanda at 403-741-6095.

From June 14 to July 12, the Donalda Art Gallery will be featuring a special “Canada 150: Period Costume” exhibit showcasing a variety of different uniforms, dresses, and clothes from the past. This is a great chance to see some unique pieces. The Donalda Art Gallery will be open daily this summer from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

On July 1, Donalda Canada Day celebrations will take place from 11 a.m. to midnight. There will be a brunch at the Lutheran Church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with pie and coffee at the Drop-In from noon to 4 p.m. There will also be hotdogs, pop, floats and ice-cream at the Big Lamp from noon to 4 p.m.

Children’s games will be held beside the library from 1 to 4 p.m., with Bouncy House at the Big Lamp starting at 1 p.m.

The Red Lamp Market will be on from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the parade begins at 4 p.m. There will also be a roast beef dinner by Mad Catering at the Drop-In from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Live auction on the stage by the Big Lamp will begin at 7 p.m. Also, live band “Retired Night Riders” will be on stage by the Big Lamp from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m., with the fireworks starting at 11:30 p.m. Be sure to come out and enjoy all that Donalda has to offer this Canada Day.
