The Shrove Tuesday pancake supper sponsored by the Church at Endiang on Feb. 13 at the Endiang Community Hall was enjoyed by about 70 folks.

The church group cooked up the pancakes, sausages and eggs and the students of the Byemoor School helped serve the pancake toppings and beverages and assist with clean-up.

The church donated the entire proceeds of $1,440 to the Byemoor School, with event organizer Karyn Tateson presenting the cheque to Principal Krista Jewitt. The money will go towards purchasing manipulatives, and educational aids to enhance hands-on learning. Thanks to the Church at Endiang, all the volunteer workers and those who supported the supper for making it a success to support the local school.

Endmoor Floor Curling Club sent two teams to the Halkirk Bonspiel on Feb. 15.

Participating were the team of Doreen Nixon, Rosemary Stulberg, Raechel Boertien and Janice Hoover and the team of Ken Fast, Roxy Gallagher, Luann Buchwitz and Deanna Johnson. Both teams placed third in their respective pools. All reported a fun time and enjoyed the Halkirk hospitality.

The Endmoor Floor Curling Club will host its 2nd annual Ken Schultz Memorial Funspiel on March 18 at the Endiang Community Hall.

Byemoor School students enjoyed a few days off from school ahead of the Family Day weekend as the teachers participated in their annual Teacher’s Convention in Edmonton.

The annual Byemoor Boar’s Cup hockey tournament was held at the Endmoor Arena in Byemoor on Feb. 16 – 18. We will have the final results for next week’s news edition.

If there’s enough interest, plans are to have a Sunday Coffee Time at the Endiang Community Hall on the second and fourth Sundays of the month. Everyone is welcome to drop by the hall anytime from 10 a.m. to noon for a coffee and visit with the neighbours.

The first Coffee Time was held on Feb. 18 as there was no church that day. Typically, the Church at Endiang has services the first and third Sunday of each month at the Endiang Community Hall, with all welcome.

It’s time to enter your curling team in the Byemoor Mixed Bonspiel, running Feb. 28 – March 2 at the Byemoor Curling Rink. This is the closing bonspiel for the curling season. Phone your entries to Justin Jones at 403-741-6784 or Eugene Nixon at 403-742-9616.
