The Christmas Market and Santa Day in Byemoor is coming up on Saturday, Dec. 2 at the community hall from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
The community bake table welcomes any donations of baking. Santa arrives at 2 p.m. for photo opportunities and to hand out candy bags. Chad Sorensen of Hook Em Up will be providing sleigh rides around town in the afternoon and a concession will be open at the hall.
Lee Hunt, a long-time resident of the Endiang district, has moved to the Hanna Lodge where she would welcome any visitors to stop by for a visit. We hope you enjoy your new location, Lee.
Lee Hunt celebrated her 90th Birthday milestone with a family gathering at the home of Jim and Maureen Wasdal on Nov. 11. Most of Lee’s family attended the special occasion. Congratulations to Lee on this special milestone and best wishes for many more happy occasions.
An update on the 151 shoeboxes the Church of Endiang packed for Operation Christmas Child, the shoebox gifts will be enjoyed by children in Nicaragua, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Senegal, Gambia, Sierra-Leone, Guinea-Bissau, the Philippines and Ukraine this Christmas season.
Rob and Jennifer Shearer and their daughter Rebecca of Mobile, Alabama, were guests of Cody and Alicia Scheerschmidt and family last week. Rob has been coming to Alberta for about 30 years to hunt waterfowl and deer, but this is the first trip for his wife and daughter.
Rebecca wanted to see snow and fill her deer tag. With the open fall, snow didn’t look promising, but luckily she realized both her dreams. She was able to experience snow and did get a whitetail buck.
They watched Easton’s provincial football game in Red Deer on Friday before flying back to Alabama on Saturday. The Scheerschmidts have been to Alabama to visit the Shearer family and to fish, deep-sea fish and hunt crocodiles.
Recently the Endmoor Arena in Byemoor received some new signage thanks to local volunteers. The arena never had its name on it before, but now proudly displays “Endmoor Arena” signs. Great work by all involved.
Hockey action at the Endmoor Arena saw the Endmoor U11 Atom team host Coronation on Saturday, and on Sunday the Endmoor U9 Novice team hosted the team from Didsbury.
On Nov. 21, several volunteers of the Sullivan Lake West Agricultural Society worked at the Cash Casino in Red Deer. Thanks to the volunteers for their help, casino funds are so important to help with rising operation costs.
Congratulations to Easton Scheerschmidt and the J C Charyk Hawks of Hanna on being named Provincial Champions in Six-A-Side Football. They won against Hinton in Red Deer on Nov. 24 to claim the title.
