The Endmoor Floor Curling Club did the Endiang–Byemoor community proud at the bonspiel in Botha on Nov. 16. The club sent two teams and each brought home the gold, winning their respective pools.

Congratulations to the team of Doreen Nixon (skip), Roxy Gallagher (third), Ken Fast (second) and Raechel Boertien (lead) and to the team of Marj Sorensen (skip), Rosemary Stulberg (third), Luann Buchwitz (second) and Deanna Johnson (lead) on their championship wins.

All enjoyed the Botha hospitality and Ken Fast and Roxy Gallagher also shared the win of the 50/50 draw.

Gary Groat’s new house has arrived in the hamlet of Byemoor. Congratulations on your new home, Gary. We hope it brings you many years of enjoyment and comfort.

Kirk and Suzanne Sorensen and their daughters Alerie and Brielle have returned from an enjoyable vacation to Mazatlan, Mexico. They took in the sights, enjoyed the sun and warmth of Mexico and participated in many adventures. Marj Sorensen stayed at the farm during their absence and kept the home fires burning.

The Church of Endiang group, along with members of the community, gathered at the Endiang Community Hall on Nov. 18 to pack shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child, to help less fortunate children from around the globe. The event showcased the generosity of the community and outside donors with a mountain of shoe boxes packed, totalling an impressive 151 boxes.

In addition to the shoe boxes, several gift bags of items were packed for donation to the Stettler and District FCSS to help local children in need in the Town and County of Stettler.

A huge tip of the hat goes to all who donated and assisted with this exemplary act of kindness and caring, once again organized by Karyn Tateson and helpers.

On Saturday, Nov. 18 the Endmoor Thunder U11 hockey team hosted the Delburne team at the arena in Byemoor. Hockey season is in full swing.

Congratulations to Darryl Keibel and Cindy Plamondon on their engagement. A wedding date has been set for June 2024.

The Byemoor 4-H Beef Club is hosting an online fundraiser; bidding closes on Nov. 25 at 7 p.m.

Items for bidding can be found on Facebook on the Byemoor Beef Auction Fundraiser 2023 page. Funds will support the 16 members and three Cleavers of the club with educational opportunities.

Don’t forget, the Byemoor Christmas Market, Bake Sale and Santa Day is on Saturday, Dec. 2 and is approaching fast. The market runs from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. with many Christmas gift ideas and other wares. Santa arrives at 2 p.m. with candy bags and photo opportunities. Concession and sleigh rides will also be available. The day is hosted by the Byemoor Community Hall, as one of its fundraisers.

Thought for the Day —

“When you give joy to other people, you get more joy in return.”

“There is no elevator to success. You have to take the stairs.”

“No one is perfect, that’s why pencils have erasers.”
