Botha students all ready to go back to school

By Louise Bellair

Great weather this past week for campers, and farmers alike, except where we got rain again this Friday, but I guess we need that, too.

But it is supposed to be dryer for the weekend, so that’s not bad. Lots of people have already enjoyed holidays and special occasions over the summer months, so hopefully, the weather continues and everyone enjoys their times together. Botha school opens their doors again soon, so where has the summer gone? Lots of back to school sales on now.

Congratulations go out to Jessica Mailer, former Botha resident. She got married in Hardisty on Saturday, Aug. 14.

Reverend Susan Boyer will be officiating church services at the Botha United Church Thursday evening at 7 p.m. throughout August and September. Everyone please join us in worship and praise our God.

Every Wednesday morning come and join the staff and residents at the seniors’ centre at 10 a.m. The residents really love to have company and really enjoy the time spent together. So come on one and all and stop by and have coffee with them.

On Friday, Aug. 27, there is going to be a home-based fair at the Good Sense Health Store in Stettler starting at 5 p.m. Some of the local ladies from Botha will be entering tables with their items. So, please everyone, take in the fair and support our ladies from Botha. Good luck on your sales everyone.

The Botha Hall is available for rent. The hall is available for smaller parties, larger parties and also weekend gatherings. So please contact Marsha Mailer at 403-742-2559 for reservations.

Also the ball diamond is available for rent. Come out and have a great game of ball everyone. For reservations please contact Ken or Wendy at 403-742-8184. Camping is also available on request.
