BYEMOOR/ENDIANG NEWS -- Members of the Byemoor 4-H Beef Club are collecting car, truck and tractor batteries for a fundraiser. If anyone has any they would like to donate please contact any club member or Suzanne Sorensen at 403-884-2455 to arrange pick up.
Spring and summer hours at the Byemoor landfill transfer station come into effect on Wednesday, April 19. The transfer station will then be open Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Note to remember, summer hours take effect the first Wednesday after Easter.
The Endmoor Drop-In Centre crib meet on Thursday, April 6 saw Doreen Nixon post the top score while Gladys McLeod pegged her way to second place.
Anyone wishing to order hanging flower baskets or other garden items from the Byemoor School fundraiser is reminded that orders are to be in by Tuesday, April 18. Contact any student or Rhonda Maginn at 403-579-2228 or Suzanne Sorensen at 403-884-2455 for further information or to place an order.
The Hoath Estate Sale will be held on April 21, 22 and 23 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day at the old Kobi store building on Main Street in Byemoor. On offer are a large selection of tools, furniture and household goods. Call Laurel at 403-430-0366 for further information.
Sympathy is extended to the family of Jamie (nee Dahl) Oliver who passed away at the Red Deer hospital on Wednesday, March 29 at the age of 32 years. Jamie is the daughter of Lori (nee Allen) Dahl and Tim Dahl and the granddaughter of the late Ford and Dawn Walker.
Jamie’s funeral was held in Hanna on Saturday, April 8. Memorial donations will be accepted at the TD Bank in Hanna in trust for Jamie’s three young children, aged three, eight and nine.
Our thoughts are with Jamie’s family in their sad loss.
Keep in mind the Byemoor Bull-a-Rama is on Friday, April 14 at the arena in Byemoor. Doors open at 6 p.m. starting off with the trade show. Bull riding starts at 7:30 p.m. with the dance at 10 p.m. The steak barbeque at the Byemoor Hotel runs from 3 to 7 p.m.
One date to mark on your calendar for next month is the Mother’s Day pancake breakfast at the Endiang Hall on Sunday, May 14 from 9 a.m. until noon.
Also, the Prairie Garden Tea runs all Mother’s Day weekend, May 12, 13 and 14 at The Lilac Room and Cattlemunn’s Ranching Gift Shop south of Endiang on highway 855. The Mother’s Day Tea with prizes for those those wearing the fanciest hat, as well as shopping and bedding plants are available. For reservations call Rhonda at 403-854-1137 or Karyn at 403-807-8730.
