Our Annual Giant Book Sale is less than a month away

STETTLER PUBLIC LIBRARY -- I love Alberta weather. One minute we have a foot of snow and the next we are digging out our flip flops and complaining about the heat. Well, if you want consistency, come to the Stettler Public Library because we are jam packed with events.

After School with Darlene is back on Thursday, March 16 at 3:30 p.m. when we have a “Snoozefest.” Enjoy the story “Snoozefest” by Samantha Berger and design your own pajamas. There is even a talk of designing your own quilt.

We are continuing with the quilting theme when the kids get to celebrate National Quilting Day on Saturday, March 18 at 10:30 a.m. We aren’t digging out the sewing machines but you will enjoy some hand-sewing fun.

If sewing isn’t your cup of tea but cooking is, join us on the same day, March 18 at 2 p.m. for the Teen Cooking Club. We will be making food with a green theme that will allow you to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in style. You must pre-register so call us at 403-742-2292 to register.

Cookbooks are available for our next edition of the Cookbook Club. Make your favourite Irish or UK dishes for everyone to enjoy on Monday, March 20 at 6:30 p.m. We are always looking for new members to join the Cookbook Club. Come and enjoy an evening of good food and conversation.

We are less than five weeks away from the Friends of the Library’s Annual Giant Book Sale. Join us on Friday, April 7 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, April 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to stock up your bookshelves with classics and great reads. If you have any classics or great reads that you would like to donate to our book sale, we are now taking gently read donations. No textbooks or encyclopedias please.

Keep checking or our Facebook page for news of any additional activities as some may require pre-registration! If you have any ideas, suggestions, or questions about activities you want to see at the library, let us know. We hope to see you at the library soon.
